Brief
Develop the look + feel for An Evening in Support of Jays Care. The event was hosted in the TD Summit Suite at Rogers Centre and brought together Toronto Blue Jays alumni in support of the youth supported by Jays Care programming. The event took place during a Blue Jays game, with attendees able to watch the game from the suite, as well as interact with Blue Jays alumni and Jays Care youth athletes.
Solution
The goal with the design of this event identity was to highlight the role of the Toronto Blue Jays organization as central to the interconnection between players and Jays Care youth athletes. As part of the design brief, a theme/tagline was created for the event "Legends Unite & Dreams Ignite". The graphic device of the curved double line, an iconic feature of the Blue Jays uniform, was adopted to visually make a connection between the charitable foundation and Blue Jays current and former players. When used in combination with photography, the double line evokes that interconnection between players and Jays Care youth, with the Blue Jays organization serving as the common bond. The use of deep, rich blues and selection of photography that highlighted the dome and sky in the Rogers Centre served to emphasize the nature of this event as a unique evening event at the dome.
